friday vlog: cheating on my WIP



It's true. I must admit. I've been unfaithful.

  1. Wow, it's amazing how that story came to you! I don't know if I've ever had anything that developed come along, but I got a great story idea walking in the pouring rain for an hour. Nature clears the mind. But yeah, I think you did the right thing to switch stories. Sometimes you got to grab the moment when it comes.

  2. To be fair, this is only the second time such a clear plot has fallen into my lap. I'm much more of a natural pantser than a planner when it comes to planning out my books.

  3. I think you've got to go with the story that's really driving you creatively - spend some time with your new world and see where it leads you. You know your first story will wait for you to return!

  4. You're right, Kate. But sometimes it's just so hard to put something down. I'll go back to it when the time is right (and I'm older and hopefully wiser).
